One of the days that moved the world the most in the 90’s was August 31, 1997 with the death of Princess Diana in Paris.
The death of Lady Di shook the whole United Kingdom, millions of people came to say their last goodbye to her at Buckinham Palace, although the funeral was held privately in the royal chapel of St. James’s Palace, as Diana did not belong to the royal family since her divorce with Prince Charles. The surroundings of Buckinham were full of people and even many fans traveled from different countries to England to pay tribute to Diana.
Diana’s remains are buried in the Spencer estate, which has belonged to the family for more than five centuries. The place is called Althorp House, where the princess grew up and lived from the age of eight when her parents divorced. A few years ago Roberto Devorik said that in reality Princess Diana is not buried in Althorp, but in the Saxon church of more than 1200 years in the village Great Brington next to her father in the Spencer family crypt. No one from the family has come out to confirm or deny the rumor, nor have they commented on the matter. The estate of Althorp is open a few days during the year to enter the gardens, you can not enter the tomb, you can only see it from the outside.
The dress in which Princess Diana was buried
Princess Diana was buried in a long black dress designed by Lay Di’s friend and designer Catherine Walker. The dress was long sleeved to cover the blows that Princess Diana suffered in the fatal accident, in her hands she wore a rosary that was given to her by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, also in the coffin there were photos of her children and her parents. Catherine Walker, who was Princess Diana’s favorite designer, died in 2010 in the county of Sussex.
The millionaire repairs to the grave of Princess Diana
The place where Princess Diana’s remains rest is in the care of her brother Earl Charles Spencer, who has stated that the tomb has been attempted to be robbed on at least four occasions, all fortunately unsuccessfully.
“We have had four attempted break-ins towards her body in the last 20 years. I am very glad that we have seen all of them off.” He confirmed to BBC Radio. Earl Charles also said that about $27 million has been spent on repairs, modifications and maintenance of the tomb and the surrounding area.
