Prince William was due to give a reading at the memorial service of King Constantine at Windsor Castle today. Prince William has pulled out of a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece due to a “personal matter”. The Prince of Wales was due to give a reading at the event. The thanksgiving service is taking place at Windsor Castle this morning, with Queen Camilla leading members of the Royal Family at the event as King Charles is unable to attend due to his ongoing cancer treatment.

Kensington Palace would not elaborate further but said the Princess of Wales, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, continues to be doing well. The Prince of Wales called the Greek royal family who are attending the service to let them know he was unable to attend. Charles, who is being treated for cancer, will miss the service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in honour of his close friend and second cousin Constantine II, the former ruler and last king of Greece.
