Royal Family LIVE: Kate’s ‘superpower’ US status exposes glaring Meghan and Harry problem

Princess Kate's inspiring three-word response when hearing a royal fan's cancer diagnosis

Princess Kate’s worldwide reach has demonstrated how much power Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lost, according to one commentator. Princess Kate has “accidentally” exposed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s fall from the heights of superstardom through her cancer diagnosis, a royal writer has claimed.

On March 22 Kate released a video explaining that she would continue to be absent from royal duties due to having preventative chemotherapy, with the news making headlines all over the world and world leaders and celebrities from all walks of life sending her messages of goodwill. Writing on news.com.au, Daniela Elser pointed out that nothing the Sussexes had done recently had made the same level of impact, four years after leaving the Royal Family, with their recent collaboration working with Axios fighting deepfakes ahead of the US election going almost unnoticed.

She said: “In Kate becoming even more of a superpower – such that they should consider giving her a seat on the UN Security Council – that has, in turn, only illuminated a coincidental, second thing: how increasingly marginalised and diminished the Sussexes seem in comparison.” Ms Elser added that even though Meghan’s new Instagram has reached over half a million followers, the former Sussex Royal account still has 9.2 million followers, even though it is no longer updated.

She added: “The disappointing thing is, the Sussexes are doing, or at least trying to do, work that matters. That deep fake campaign reported by Axios? This is a serious issue that could have a significant impact on this year’s US presidential election and therefore whether American democracy is about to crumble.

“The strange and shocking events that have rattled the Palace this year have only cemented Kate and husband Prince William as true figures of global consequence while Harry and Meghan, having forgone the royal imprimatur, have become sort of stateless actors who have slipped from news sections to the entertainment pages.”
