A royal spokesperson has issued a short statement as Princess Kate continues to recover from planned abdominal surgery. The royals have issued a new statement on Princess Kate, as she is reportedly continuing to do “well” since undergoing planned abdominal surgery. A spokesperson for the Royal Family said: “Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates. That guidance stands.”

The Princess of Wales was admitted into The London Clinic last month, and underwent the surgery on January 16. Kensington Palace shared a statement on Kate’s hospital admission on January 17, stating that the surgery had been “successful”. As well as stating that Kate was unlikely to return to duty until “after Easter”, the statement also read that the Palace would only “provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share”.

The late time that the Princess of Wales was seen publicly was during the royals’ walk to church on Christmas Day. During his wife’s recovery, Prince William has taken time away from duty – only returning for a few engagements since January 16. The royal has wished to take time to focus on his family, especially their three children during their mother’s hospital stay and continued recovery.

Speaking to MailOnline, royal biographer Phil Dampier said that the Royal Family – in this instance, Princess Kate and King Charles – “have a right to privacy” but that these “are not normal times” with the two prominent health issues. Earlier today, Prince William stepped out in London, paying a visit to the Western Marble Arch Synagogue. The royal was able to meet a group of young ambassadors from all backgrounds who have taken part in the Holocaust Educational Trust’s flagship ‘Lessons from Auschwitz’ programme.

During the visit, which was meant to take place last month with his wife also in attendance, William made a comment on behalf of both of them. “Anti-Semitism has no place in society. Prejudice has no place in society. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. “I want you all to know you can talk about it and your experiences. “Both Catherine and I are extremely concerned about the rise in anti-Semitism that you guys have talked about this morning and I’m just so sorry if any of you have had to experience that.”

Following her 13-day hospital stay last month, Princess Kate has been continuing her recovery at their Windsor-based home, Adelaide Cottage. The royal was discharged from The London Clinic on January 29, with William said to have visited her numerous times throughout her stay.
