The Duke of Sussex will be in the UK to attend a ceremony on Wednesday, May 8, at St Paul’s Cathedral marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he set up for injured servicemen and women to compete in a variety of sports. Speaking to The Mirror, an inside source said: “Harry has kept in regular contact with his father on several occasions and made no secret of his desire to see him when he can. He has been especially concerned about him and hopes the King will be well and able to see him as planned.”

Royal sources insisted that despite having a busy diary next week, Charles intends to see his estranged son. But an insider claimed that while the father and son would reunite, the same olive branch was not extended to Prince Harry’s brother William. The source said of the snub: “Their relationship remains extremely fractured. Harry has privately expressed a wish to sit down with his brother but now is not the time.”

Prince Harry was able to have a brief meeting with his father at Clarence House, marking a significant step towards mending their strained relationship following Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from Royal duties in 2020 and relocate to the US. Charles resumed his public duties this week.

In a recent interview on American television, Harry expressed his hope that the King’s diagnosis could help mend ties between the Sussexes and the Firm.
