Prince William has been left with no choice but to cut his brother Harry out of his life, a Royal expert has claimed. Prince William has had a tough time accepting something about his younger brother Harry, a royal expert has claimed.
Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is planning to fly back to England in hopes of making amends with his father and brother after the fallout from his book Spare, which is due out next month. The relationship between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Royal Family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, is currently strained. Royal writer Tom Quinn suggests that William, after spending some time apart from Harry, has come to a sad conclusion.
Speaking to The Mirror, Quinn said: “Increasingly as time goes on William realises he really doesn’t need Harry any more. He feels Harry has been the complete opposite of a supportive younger brother and everything he does makes William’s life more difficult. “Harry is also a reminder of past trauma and upset which William sees as very damaging to the monarchy and anything that damages the monarchy damages William’s future and that of his heir Prince George.”
Despite the past hurt, it hasn’t stopped Prince William from trying to be a supportive older brother to Harry. According to a source, Prince William and Kate Middleton are doing their best to mend their rift with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Quinn, speaking to The Mirror previously, revealed: “There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful from happening. Illness often brings warring family members together, and there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it.
“Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her and grovelingly apologised for the past – it’s not going to happen.” The brothers could reunite at the wedding of friend Hugh Grosvenor this summer.
The brothers’ much-publicised rift may be healed somewhat by the festivities of attending their mutual pal’s bash in June. Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, has sent out invites to senior working members of the Royal Family. He will marry his long-term partner Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral.
