The Princess Royal appears to have paid a sweet tribute to her late mother, Queen Elizabeth, during a recent outing. Underneath her giant shawl, Anne wore a black button-down jacket which bears a striking resemblance to one the late monarch used to wear. Queen Elizabeth wore a very similar button-down coat during Remembrance Sunday in 2018. On Monday, Anne paired her jacket with what appears to be a black, knee-length skirt and a patterned white and black lightweight scarf. She accessorised the look with a black hat and black knee-high boots.

The royal has previously worn her mother’s clothing pieces, including during an appearance last month when she donned a purple checked velvet coat worn by the late Queen to a public event in Nottingham. She has also worn Elizabeth’s Admiral’s Cloak to a church service last November. Constantine’s memorial service was not attended by King Charles as the monarch steps back from public-facing duties while he undergoes cancer treatment.

Prince William also had to miss the event due to a “personal matter”, according to Kensington Palace. Instead, Queen Camilla led the royals who were joined by the late king’s widow Queen Anne-Marie, their eldest son, Crown Prince Pavlos and other members of the Greek royal family.

Constantine II was a first cousin once removed and sailing partner of the late Duke of Edinburgh and died at the age of 82 in January last year in an Athens hospital. Charles had a close friendship with Constantine, choosing him as a godfather for his son Prince Wiliam.
