Meghan Markle will “find it humiliating” if she is “booed” during a return trip to the UK, a royal expert has claimed. Royal expert Angela Levin was asked if she believes Meghan and Prince Harry will return to the UK at some point this year for either the Duke’s birthday in September or for the anniversary of King Charles’ Coronation next week.
Speaking to GB News, the royal commentator said that the Duchess would be unlikely to return as she “doesn’t like the Royal Family and “makes an excuse every time”. If she did return, she would feel “humiliated” if she was “booed”, Levin said. She added: “People are now feeling so angry with her. Angry as well for changing Harry although it’s his life and him going along with it”. Last month, Prince Harry lost his attempt to appeal against a high court decision to reduce his level of personal security when he visits the UK.
In February 2020, the Duke took legal action against the Home Office after they decided to downgrade his publicly funded security. Levin said the lack of security will likely stop Harry from returning to the UK. She said: “He won’t get all the top protection for Megan and the two children so I think that will put him off.” Levin went on to say that Harry can’t have the same treatment as he did when he was a royal because it’s funded by taxpayers’ money and she claimed, “we can’t afford to pay him”.
Prince Harry will return to the UK by himself to attend an event for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games in London at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8. The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event, founded by Harry in 2014, for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.
Meghan is not expected to attend the event alongside her husband but will instead, head to Nigeria where she will meet Harry and the pair will participate in discussions about the Invictus Games. The Duchess is said to want to explore “her roots” after it was revealed that she is “43 percent Nigerian.”
