Arthur Edwards has been photographing the Royal Family for over 45 years and has built up quite a relationship with the Firm. King Charles has his own method for coping with his cancer treatment, according to royal photographer Arthur Edwards, who believes his life in the Royal Family has enabled him to keep calm and carry on. Mr Edwards has been working closely alongside the King for over four decades and has got to know his work ethic well, having followed the royals all around the country and the world.

His Majesty has been pictured looking cheerful and waving to well-wishers on the occasions he has been spotted in public attending church at Sandringham. This inner strength is something that comes naturally to Charles, as Mr Edwards told OK! magazine: “He’s extremely hard-working and driven, and always has been. “We go from one job to the next without a break. I don’t know how he does it, but he’s trained himself.”The photographer was also full of praise for Queen Camilla, who has supported her husband by his side while also holding the fort for the working royals.

He said: “She’s piling in the engagements, too. He’s 75 and she’s 76, and you might think they’d be putting their feet up. But they never ease up, and we’re so lucky to have that. “If you think about it, Charles could have done anything he wanted as Prince of Wales. He could have drunk champagne all day, played backgammon and gone to the races, but it was always work, work, work. Even now, he gets up every morning to do his best – and not for himself, but for other people.” On February 5, Buckingham Palace released a statement explaining that the King had been diagnosed with cancer and would be undergoing treatment while taking a step back from public duties.

Charles later released a statement from Sandringham expressing his gratitude for the messages of support he had received from well-wishers. He said: “I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days. As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement. “It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organisations which support cancer patients and their families across the UK and wider world.”

Earlier this week the King was back in London to meet with Rishi Sunak, their first in-person weekly meeting since the cancer diagnosis. Charles confessed to the Prime Minister that the support he had received had made him emotional, saying: “I’ve had so many wonderful messages and cards, it has reduced me to tears most of the time.”
