Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated their 12 year wedding anniversary yesterday (29 April), and to mark the special occasion they took to Instagram to share a previously unseen photo. In the pic the Prince and Princess of Wales can be seen enjoying a bike ride through the countryside, alongside a caption that simply reads: “12 years ❤️”. Unsurprisingly, the photo went down a real treat with fans, racking up almost 1.5 million likes and plenty of comments, with many pointing out that the couple have actually been together much longer than the 12 years they’ve been married.

“And over 20 years of love! Happy anniversary!” one royal fan commented under the post, as someone else said: “But they’ve been together for nearly 20 years 🍾😘.” A third fan chimed in with: “Happy anniversary to you guys!! Almost 20 years together!! Congratulations!!” And a wedding anniversary isn’t the only special occasion that the couple are celebrating, as next week they’ll gather with the rest of the Royal Family to mark King Charles III’s coronation, which is taking place on 6 May at Westminster Abbey.

William and Kate are both expected to play big roles in the coronation, as well as their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, among other royals including Princess Anne.

They’re also expected to reunite with Prince Harry for the first time in months, following the many royal bombshells he dropped in his memoir, Spare. After several weeks of speculation about whether Harry and Meghan Markle would attend, the Palace recently confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will head over to the UK for the event, although the Duchess of Sussex will remain in the US. Despite that, it’s unclear what role – if any – Harry will play in the day’s events, or whether he’ll join his brother et al for the much-anticipated Buckingham Palace balcony appearance.
