The ‘real reason’ Prince Harry saw King Charles for just 30 minutes revealed by expert

A royal expert pinpointed the key reason why Prince Harry and King Charles’s first meeting in months was very brief. Prince Harry’s meeting with his father, King Charles, last week was very brief due to the monarch’s cancer treatment, a royal expert has claimed. Buckingham Palace shocked royal watchers worldwide last Monday after it announced the King had been diagnosed with a “form of cancer”.

The next day, Prince Harry was pictured rushing back to the UK so he could meet his father at Clarence House in the afternoon. But their first meeting in nine months was very brief, reportedly lasting less than an hour before the King and Queen Camilla were pictured leaving and taking a helicopter flight from London to Sandringham. And now a royal commentator claimed the meeting was very short in order to keep Charles’s stress levels down.

Writer and broadcaster Robert Jobson suggested a longer meeting would end up touching on stressful topics which would hinder the monarch’s recovery. He told the Sun: “You don’t want his blood pressure going up. The King’s not very well, whatever type of cancer it is, he’s undergoing treatment. The best thing for him is calm. “After the initial kiss and hug, love you dad, hope you get better soon, what issues are going to get raised? Things that will get your blood pressure rising.”

The expert went on to suggest that the King may soon leave Sandringham after it closes to stay at Wood Farm instead. He said: “I would think he will stay at Sandringham House until they shut it down and then he may go to Wood Farm. “When the late Queen was very sick she went to Wood Farm. It’s also where Prince Philip lived after his retirement. “It’s a very relaxing place and he can be there with just a couple of servants and just really chill out.”

On Saturday, King Charles expressed his “heartfelt thanks” for the kind messages he has received since his cancer diagnosis was announced. In his first public statement to acknowledge the well-wishes of the nation, the monarch said: “I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days. “As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement’.”
