Over the past year, she has grown in confidence as she has thoroughly embraced her public duties with poise and warmth. While she often proves that age is just a number, King Charles has reportedly joked that she sometimes struggles with high heels at public engagements. Nevertheless, over the weekend, she flew the flag for British fashion, showcasing a number of designer labels at Trooping the Colour.

The royal, who will turn 78 next month, looked elegant in a white silk crepe dress with silver embroidery by Anna Valentine — her long-time favourite designer. She paired the look with a Philip Treacy hat, the same milliner behind Princess Kate’s turquoise headpiece for the event. Camilla completed her ensemble with a pair of nude pumps, once again proving that age is no barrier to stepping out in style.

On Thursday, King Charles hosted a ceremony at Windsor Castle for the King’s Foundation Awards, celebrating the recipients of the King’s Award for Enterprise — one of the most prestigious honours for outstanding British businesses. The King warmly greeted award winners and took time to speak with Lisa Kay, founder of the shoe brand Sole Bliss, which specialises in stylish footwear designed for comfort. During their conversation, he shared a light-hearted remark about Queen Camilla, revealing that she has started to struggle with wearing high heels as she gets older — a relatable admission that drew smiles from those nearby.

Queen Camilla often steps out in designs from luxury brands such as Chanel, Aquazzura, Gianvito Rossi, and Jimmy Choo.However, Sole Bliss is also high on her list of favourites. She reportedly owns more than 11 pairs of their shoes, known for combining comfort with style.The British label is renowned for creating elegant footwear specifically designed for women with bunions, wide feet, or sensitive soles — offering both support and sophistication. The Queen made her debut in the brand at the 2018 Royal Cornwall show, wearing their £159 Ingrid Camel leather block heels.

Lisa introduced herself to King Charles as “someone who makes ladies’ shoes.” The King replied that his wife “likes a heel that is not too narrow”. While the Queen often looks radiant and puts on show-stopping displays. Charles pointed out his wife’s age hinting that she struggles to walk in them for long periods of time. He said: “It gets a bit harder to walk in heels as you get older,” amid her extensive shoe collection.
