Daily Express US reached out to Marlene Koenig, a royal author and founder of Royal Musings blog, who says Kate has a “strong support network,” which includes her mom, dad, two siblings, husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law. It’s Queen Camilla who stands out to Ms Koenig, with the historian saying, “Queen Camilla is probably extremely empathetic.” Camila is known to shy away from the spotlight, and put others first, like her husband, King Charles, who she is caring for as he undergoes cancer treatment.

She adds: “Kate has people, friends who are there for her, and she has her children, so she has a lot to focus on and people who are there for her.” The historian also talks about the public, saying people “want her to get better, and get back out there,” and that’s something Kate has spoken about before, that she loves what she does as a senior working royal. Koenig discusses the timeline, saying Kensington Palace has been “upronft” and “straightforward” about Kate’s health issues.

But, that wasnt always the case, when it came to the monarchy, with Koenig revistiing the past: “If we go back to the late 1940s, when King George VI, Charles’s grandfather, was having medical issues, was in the hospital, had trouble breathing, had surgery, and then died at the age of 52. “He was never told he had lung cancer, and it was not known for years, publicly.”

Kate released a video message on Friday, talking about her health issues, and now that the public is in the know, it may result in concern, but it’s hopefully balanced out with empathy, says Koenig. ‘The most important thing is, you have to be in strong mental health, as well as physical health, to fight, when you’re having chemicals put in your body to fight cancer, she has the best medical care.”
