Royal Family LIVE: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new website could be shut down
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle launched a brand new website, Sussex.com, as a ‘one-stop shop’ for their work. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be forced to shut their website down just hours after launching it.
The couple replaced their Archewell site with Sussex.com, with the homepage reading ‘The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’. But they have been warned that using the Sussex title and their royal crest for what appears to be commercial uses could provoke the Palace.
One source told MailOnline: “They are going to have real trouble with the use of Sussex. It is a royal title and if there is any hint of commercialism about this it will be shut down. It’s just staggering they cannot see how gauche it is.” However, a source close to the couple said last night: “Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. That is a fact. It is their surname and family name.”
The new site went live yesterday evening as a ‘one-stop shop’ for their work, fueling rumours that the Sussexes are trying to breathe new life into their media careers.
The Duke is described on the page as a “humanitarian, military veteran, mental health advocate and environmental campaigner”. The Duchess is called a “feminist and champion of human rights and gender equity”. The rebranding comes amid rumours that the couple may be looking for more production companies to work with.
