During a visit to an RAF base in Cyprus in 2018, where they inaugurated a new recreation facility, the Princess of Wales let slip about her husband’s annoying habit. As William jokingly warned the recruits to “Keep the pizza off the sofas”, Kate said: “You’re a nightmare with that.” It’s not the first time the Waleses have discussed their fondness for takeaways. In a 2017 interview with BBC Radio 1, Kate was asked if the Royal Family ever indulges in takeaway food and what her favourite dish is.

She responded: “Absolutely, and curry, definitely. It doesn’t usually get ordered to the palace, we tend to go and pick it up,” before humorously adding, “not ourselves!” While Kate prefers her meals spicy, William confessed to footballer Peter Crouch on his podcast in 2020 that he favours milder dishes. He admitted he’s “not a vindaloo man put it that way” and prefers a chicken masala, reports the Daily Record. While chatting on Radio 1, William also confessed his fondness for Nando’s, a preference he picked up from his police protection officer.

The late Queen was no exception, with a penchant for fish and chips while at Balmoral, according to an insider who told Fabulous: “She very occasionally treated herself to fish and chips when at Balmoral. “A footman is dispatched to get it from the local town of Ballater.” The late Queen also had a taste for kebabs, as Royal correspondent Jayne Seymour revealed that Krazy Kebabs takeaway in Swaffham once received a delivery order for Sandringham House.

The delivery driver recounted to Jayne: “I assumed the food was for a servant. But when I got to the entrance a butler took it and said it was for the Queen.” He added: ” I hope she enjoyed it we are known for the best kebabs in Norfolk.” However, Prince Charles seems to have a leaning towards Italian cuisine.

During a visit to Scotland in November 2019, he was gifted a pizza by a member of the public while mingling with crowds in St Boswells. Erminio Di Meo, the chef at Piccolino, told the PA news agency: “I wanted to give him the pizza as he is such a big part of this country. I said, ‘it’s a margherita’. I believe he said, ‘it’s my favourite’.”
