The Duke of Sussex has changed his primary residency as California in his official business records, and royal experts believes the date is a jibe at his father. This was the date Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were kicked out of Frogmore Cottage. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the left the Royal Family and have lived in the states since 2020.
Speaking to GB News, Royal Editor Charlotte Griffiths said Prince Harry could have picked any date on the document, but specifically went for the day the couple officially left the royal family. In conversation with GB News presenter Ben Leo, she said: “I wouldn’t put it past him to have deliberately put that in there to spite his father.” Griffiths explained: “To me, it feels like he’s trolling his dad a bit, because he could have said that he’s been a US resident since 2020, when he quit the UK and moved to the States, but instead he chose the exact day that his dad kicked him out of Frogmore.
“The reason his dad kicked him out of Frogmore was because he’d slagged off Camilla in Spare. And apparently it was a really difficult decision for Charles because no dad wants to kick their son out of their home. But he went beyond the pale.” “Harry was incensed by this move. Nothing is by chance with Harry. He’s kind of spiteful and he can’t let go of the past. “Why is he so hung up on Frogmore? This is the country he was desperate to get away from. This is a house he didn’t particularly want to live in and in fact didn’t live in.”
Leo responded: “The thing that gets me is that Harry and Meghan left the UK. They said we’re going to focus on a new life away from the hellhole in England and all the trauma they’d been through with the Royal Family. “All they seem to have done since then is look back and complain about the way they were treated?” “And if this is right, that he chose this date to have a dig at the King, it’s just another act of his really quite vengeful nature.”
Griffiths agreed, stating: “I’m sure that Harry being made to pay for the costs of the renovations sort of galvanised his anger towards the whole situation. He thought he was getting a fantastic freebie. “And there were a few reports at the time that Meghan actually thought she was moving into Frogmore House, which is a much grander property, and she sort of felt a bit sort of tricked or confused and hadn’t quite realised it was actually a cottage which is only a mere eight bedrooms.”
