Prince Harry reveals Meghan’s ‘life lesson’ about ‘truth’ that he lives by

The comment is believed to have been another dig at the Royal Family.

Prince Harry declared that he will continue to live life “by truth” at an event in New York City yesterday. The Duke of Sussex, 40, stepped out without his wife, Meghan Markle, 43, on Friday as a speaker at the 2025 NEXUS Global Summit.

During his talk with Rachel Gerrol, co-founder and CEO of NEXUS, in front of an audience of next-generation philanthropists and impact investors, Harry mentioned how both he and Meghan live by “truth”, saying that this was something his wife has lived by for a long time. He said: “My wife said to me very early on in our relationship ‘if you live your life by truth it’s the most efficient way to live’.

“So yes, we will continue to live our life by truth and we will continue to stand up for what we believe in, the difference between right and wrong.” During the same chat, Harry described his wife as “the most trolled person in the world”. It is believed this message could have been a dig at the Royal Family, with both Harry and Meghan – who quit royal life and moved to America in 2020 – having accused the Firm of “lying” to protect other royals, including Prince William, in the past on their Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan in 2022.

On the series, Harry said: “They were happy to lie to protect my brother, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.” Meghan also hinted that she had been “lied” about during her time as a royal during a podcast interview earlier this month. Appearing on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Meghan was asked if she would do anything differently to have changed the narrative around her public image.

The Duchess of Sussex answered: “Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth.” This is believed to have been a dig at the Royal Family and life in the firm; however, it is unclear who she was exactly referring to. The prince’s appearance in New York City on Friday came as a surprise to those in attendance. The event, which brings together 350 of the world’s leading next-gen philanthropists, impact investors and social innovators, aims to unite changemakers to “bring about solutions to the most pressing problems of a generation.

Meghan is not believed to have accompanied her husband to the event this week, and instead is thought to have stayed at home at the couple’s Montecito mansion with their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
