Prince Harry Hits Back at King Charles’s Refusal to See Him With a Major Sartorial Snub
King Charles is “too busy” to see Prince Harry during his brief trip to England, a huge snub that has…not gone unnoticed. To catch us all up real quick, Harry’s in the United Kingdom for the 10th anniversary of Invictus Games. And amid speculation about whether or not he’ll see his dad, who is undergoing cancer treatment, Harry’s spokesperson dropped this statement to The Telegraph:
“In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
Meanwhile, Harry showed up at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday, May 8, for the Invictus Games service wearing an outfit that seemingly took aim at King Charles. According to The Mirror, Harry wore four medals on his jacket: his Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan, Queen Elizabeth’s Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee Medal. But he notably didn’t wear his King’s Coronation Medal—for the second time.
As for the real reason King Charles is snubbing his youngest son during this visit, a friend tells the Daily Beast that “Harry has made things very difficult for himself by saying such cruel and hurtful things about Camilla. Charles loves his sons, but he also loves his wife. The last few months have made it very clear how important she is; she has been the one propping up the whole edifice.”
The friend also explained, in part, that “Harry has made it very clear, very publicly, that he despises her. He has forced Charles to choose, which was a very silly thing to do because Camilla and he both chose each other a long time ago.” More on that….
