Major Sadler was the last original member of the SAS, also known for his exploits which were dramatised in the BBC series SAS: Rogue Heroes based on the 2016 book of the same name by Ben Macintyre. He was awarded the polar medal, military medal and military cross for his service. He died at the age of 103 in January. The private service, at Hereford Cathedral, was attended by close personal friends, family and colleagues attending.
This is the heir to the throne’s second outing in 24 hours after he returned to public duties on Thursday for the first time since his the Princess of Wales’s cancer diagnosis announcement last month.
William visited Surplus to Supper – a surplus food redistribution charity in Sunbury-on-Thames and the youth club it serves.
His visit aimed to highlight the efforts to reduce food waste as a way to cut greenhouse gas emissions and feed people in need.
